Kurt Eisner (1867-1919) was a prominent German socialist journalist and statesman, best known for his pivotal role in the Bavarian Revolution of 1918. He led the overthrow of the Wittelsbach monarchy, declaring Bavaria a socialist republic and serving as its first Prime Minister. His assassination in 1919 was a significant event that destabilized the early years of the Weimar Republic.
